Landscape etchings and aquatint

Lorraine Tolmie is a Scottish artist and printmaker. She studied at Edinburgh College of Art, Rhode Island School of Design and Kingston University.

Fascinated by traditional processes, her main focus is intaglio printmaking and monotype.

She lives in the Scottish Highlands, finding inspiration from the remote coastal landscapes of the West Coast and Hebridean Islands.

Work varies from detail oriented etching, with whispery lines and diminutive marks, to abstract monotypes that evoke atmosphere and a sense of place.

The original prints are produced in small limited editions, varied editions, and unique states. These are hand-inked and hand-printed onto cotton-based, mould-made paper.

Open edition fine art reproductions are also now available on selected artworks.
